I feel like our family is settling in and it's wonderful! He's much happier and content when he's awake for the most part. Stephen and Greyson really enjoy their snuggle time in the morning, it's pretty sweet! This week we started "playing" more. He seems to be enjoying his activity gym and toys. He particularly likes this cow with a mirror on it, it catches the light and he just stares and stares. Since he seemed to like the mirror so much I opened this snail toy that has a mirror and sings songs when you touch it. He was contently staring so I went to the kitchen to grab something to eat and heard the music start going! I came back to see he was activating the toy! I wasn't sure if it was accidental or purposeful activation since it could have been flailing of the arms that turned it on but he seemed happy with it either way. This morning Stephen saw him doing it and thought he was definitely doing it purposefully. I think so too, but I think my baby is pretty smart. With everything Greyson does, I am amazed. I have to remind myself that babies are supposed to do these simple things, like hold their head up and play. Some babies I work with are still working on learning cause and effect and purposeful activation at 2 1/2. I am thankful for my healthy developing baby! We are working on developing a schedule. At this point I'm really letting him lead it. I put him to sleep last night at 8, he slept till 3! and ate, woke up at 8 :) then he ate, played, ate again at 10:30, went back down for a nap. I think we will both really appreciate it once it's established. Here's some pictures and a short video of him playing. I just love this sweet boy and being a mom.
