Praying
Today has been quiet and dreary so it's fitting that Greyson's been sleeping pretty much all day. He must be going through a growth spurt too because he can't seem to get enough milk either. I've really been praying lately about work. I went to the office yesterday to do a couple things and talk to my boss about working part time (3 days per week). She is so great and I'm truly thankful to be working there so I was not too worried about having the conversation and she was very understanding but as we talked more it came up that I may not be able to change my schedule due to being in my first year there and considered a "probationary" employee. Ends up I may not be able to work part time at all until November. BUT, I know God is POWERFUL! and he led me to this job so I am trusting Him to work things out. It's so hard to know what to do with work and home schedule but I'm trusting God will lead me to the right decisions. Anyway, hope this little one will sleep tonight but I'm a little worried with the amount of sleep he put in today.

6 Weeks
My sweet baby is 6 weeks old! It's gone by so fast and I'm really thankful that I'm off work for another 6 weeks. I love being with this guy... most of the time, yesterday he had a rough day and was pretty fussy. We've decided no more Mexican food for a while. We're noticing that after we eat out Mexican he has a tough next day and it's just not worth it. I really felt bad about it because Stephen was home yesterday and I wanted them to enjoy each other especially since Stephen was gone and so busy last week. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
Jenny had a blanket made for Greyson with his name, birthday, and birth weight/length embroidered on it. It's really cute so this morning I decided to take some pictures... well A LOT of pictures. Precious moments just have to be captured.

7 hours
Our little man is growing! I'm not sure how much he weighs now but it's showing in his sleep. Thursday and Friday nights he slept 7 hours! Friday night Stephen woke me up at 4:30 to feed him... crazy! Anyway, last night he didn't sleep so long but maybe it's a good indication of the future.
We're having a quiet day today, Stephen and I are working on taxes... very exciting!

Fun and Games!
I feel like our family is settling in and it's wonderful! He's much happier and content when he's awake for the most part. Stephen and Greyson really enjoy their snuggle time in the morning, it's pretty sweet! This week we started "playing" more. He seems to be enjoying his activity gym and toys. He particularly likes this cow with a mirror on it, it catches the light and he just stares and stares. Since he seemed to like the mirror so much I opened this snail toy that has a mirror and sings songs when you touch it. He was contently staring so I went to the kitchen to grab something to eat and heard the music start going! I came back to see he was activating the toy! I wasn't sure if it was accidental or purposeful activation since it could have been flailing of the arms that turned it on but he seemed happy with it either way. This morning Stephen saw him doing it and thought he was definitely doing it purposefully. I think so too, but I think my baby is pretty smart. With everything Greyson does, I am amazed. I have to remind myself that babies are supposed to do these simple things, like hold their head up and play. Some babies I work with are still working on learning cause and effect and purposeful activation at 2 1/2. I am thankful for my healthy developing baby! We are working on developing a schedule. At this point I'm really letting him lead it. I put him to sleep last night at 8, he slept till 3! and ate, woke up at 8 :) then he ate, played, ate again at 10:30, went back down for a nap. I think we will both really appreciate it once it's established. Here's some pictures and a short video of him playing. I just love this sweet boy and being a mom.

Newborn Pictures
I had no idea how difficult newborn pictures were! These sweet, simple, cute photos took 2 days, 6 people, and a lot of patience! They were so worth it though, thanks to Heather, Jadon, and Walter - Homegrown Photography and Melissa for repeatedly putting him to sleep!!

Catch up!
So much has happened in the last week! Here's a quick update since my sweet Greyson will probably be waking up soon:
Stephen and I went on a great date last week while my mom watched Greyson... she loves her time with him and almost begged us to go on a date and leave him with her, haha. We went to a glassblowing studio and made ornaments (living social deal!), it was a really unique and fun experience
We couldn't pass up some special candies at a shop next door!
Shelley came to visit! It was so good to see her and we had a great time catching up, shopping, getting pedicures, and just looking at and holding Greyson. I am thankful for such good friends and people in my life! I wish we had taken more pictures and only got the camera out Saturday night to get a quick picture before she left early Sunday morning.
Stephen left Monday for Lincoln, NE where he's attending and presenting at a conference where the top youth leaders are going to discuss how to keep caucasian youth in the church. I'm so proud of him, he's awesome - but I'm here alone with baby for a few days... yesterday went really well but today has been more of a challenge. He's had a tummy ache, the swing is out of batteries and our rechargeables aren't working, and it took 2 hours to get him to sleep. Grey's starting to do some new things though - lately he's been smiling more, more alert and likes to look around, stares at faces, and he has real tears. They're pretty sad too when combined with a pitiful cry and frown. I've been working on finishing up the nursery with hanging decorations. It's kept me busy with Stephen being gone! Here are some pictures from the last week.
Thanks Aunt Steph for the mobile!
Pinterest inspired idea, it's added a lot of color to the room!
He looked at the cow for about 5 minutes! It has a mirror on it and he was pretty intrigued.
Bathing beauty ;) he loves his baths and would probably be content to stay there all day

One Month
Happy One Month Birthday Greyson! Yesterday was so busy that I didn't get a chance to blog. Our day or night I guess started out rather cold, our heater was on the fritz and stopped working Saturday night. Luckily we have awesome energy efficient windows now so by morning it was only 60 degrees inside after a cold night but it was pretty cool inside. I was so concerned about keeping him warm through the night, we did quick diaper changes and I bundled him in 2 swaddling blankets, 2 hats, and 2 blankets to sleep. We cuddled most of the morning under blankets and stayed pretty warm. I was really thankful Stephen figured out the problem, just a loose attachment and we don't have to buy a new furnace. Here's a picture of my sweet guy at 4:00 am, exactly one month old :) We were pretty sleepy...
Yesterday I had a day out with the girls and ventured out to Just Between Friends - JBF to see if we could find any good deals on baby stuff. I came away with a portable swing that Stephen can take to the office or for travel, some clothes, a few toys, and a couple cloth diapers. We did pretty well! It was really tiring though and we followed it up with a celebration dinner for Melissa since she passed her nursing boards. I'm so proud of her, what an accomplishment!
Here are some pictures we took today for his 1st month!
