All in a day... or two

Stephen and I attempted the impossible yesterday!  We were both feeling so overwhelmed and in need of a trip away to recharge and seek some much needed advice from a good friend so we set off on a spontaneous trip to Dallas that involved driving 5 hours there, spending time with Stephen's mentor, eating at In&Out, IKEA, seeing some friends, and driving home.  All in one day... not exactly relaxing but the trip involved a lot of things we needed to get done and we fully believed we could do it all in one day.  We started off on schedule but by the time we ran into IKEA at 6:55 (closing in 5 minutes) we knew it wasn't going to happen.  The lady came over the microphone over and over saying IKEA IS CLOSED which made me feel like I was in trouble, very stressful.  We decided since we were already there and I didn't have to work today that we would stay the night and come back in the morning.  I am relieved and happy to say that we now have all essential furniture for the nursery.  Crib, dresser/changing table, and bookshelf/storage items, along with some other fun things we couldn't pass up.  I'm really excited to get all the furniture put together and start organizing the few things I already have for our little guy.  Next on the to-do list is painting the other dresser and then work on the bedding (bumper, crib skirt, etc.).  After the weekend, I'm feeling much less anxious about having a baby and starting to accept it and look forward to it.  Mom and I went shopping tonight to look for a glider/rocker for the nursery - no luck yet but we're closer and I'm sure we'll find a great one.  Well, I am really tired from our adventure and have 2 long days of work, laundry, and housework ahead of me before we set off on another trip so I better get to work or get some rest. We will see which one wins.
